About
CANDICE MADEY is a contemporary art gallery located off the Bowery in New York that presents emerging, mid-career, and established artists. A driving force behind the gallery is a spirit of collaboration and experimentation—frequently working with partner galleries and organizations in novel models to create wider exposure for the gallery’s artists. The gallery represents the Estate of Darrel Ellis, an artist active in the 1980s who died of AIDS-related complications, and the gallery actively explores the social backdrop of Ellis's work through historically oriented exhibitions.
We are open to the public Tuesday–Saturday, 11am to 6pm, and by appointment. The gallery is on the second floor of a building without an elevator and is therefore not wheelchair accessible. Please contact us if we can offer extra assistance for your visit.
